This increase is attributed to:

• A higher number of referee errors this season, and

• The debut of semi-automated offside technology, which allowed for more precise (millimeter-level) decisions on offside goals.

• 86 were related to penalties

• 40 were red card decisions

• 1 involved mistaken identity
