Official AFC announcement: the DPR Korea Football Association has been disqualified from the next AFC U17 Asian Cup and fined $50,000 USD.

Basic Facts:

The sanctioned party withdrew from the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026 on April 24, 2026, just 11 days before their first match in the final tournament was scheduled to take place on May 6, 2026.

(This is the second violation by the sanctioned party within the look-back period for repeated infringements.)

Sanction Decision:

The DPR Korea Football Association violated Article 6.7 (in conjunction with Articles 6.1 and 6.2) of the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026 Regulations.

The DPR Korea Football Association is disqualified from participating in the next AFC U17 Asian Cup.

The DPR Korea Football Association is fined $50,000 USD.

In accordance with Article 11.3 of the AFC Disciplinary and Ethics Code, the fine must be paid within 30 days of receipt of this sanction decision.
