Scotland's hopes of qualifying for the FIFA World Cup have become extremely slim. Two days ago, Scotland's qualification probability stood at 42%, but it has now plummeted to just 0.07%.

Brazil, managed by Carlo Ancelotti, defeated Scotland 3-0 in a crushing loss that severely damaged the team's goal difference, which now stands at -3.

This poor goal difference puts Steve Clarke's Scotland at a significant disadvantage in the race for third-place finishes, making qualification for the Round of 16 increasingly difficult.

After South Africa unexpectedly defeated South Korea and Ecuador beat Germany, Scotland's qualification probability dropped dramatically. These results directly caused South Korea to drop to third place in their group, yet they still maintain a better goal difference than Scotland; Ecuador rose to third in their group with 4 points.

Paraguay's draw with Australia and Iran's draw with Egypt further reduced Scotland's chances of qualification.

Uruguay's loss to Spain was one of the few favorable results for Scotland, but among all 12 third-placed teams, Scotland is currently ranked only 10th.

With only three group stage matches remaining, Scotland needs several results to go their way to achieve a qualification miracle.

Scotland's Qualification Conditions

1. Ghana must defeat Croatia by at least three goals.

2. DR Congo and Uzbekistan must draw; if Uzbekistan wins, their goal difference must not exceed three goals.

3. And the most difficult condition to achieve: Austria must defeat Algeria by at least two goals, or Algeria must defeat Austria by four goals or more.
