Castaño was one of the players selected by Lorenzo for media interviews the day before Colombia's match against Portugal. Colombia needed only a draw or a win to secure top spot in Group K, while Portugal had to win to finish first in the group.

Speaking at Colombia's training base in Miami, Castaño said: "The pressure is on them. We are very relaxed mentally and hope to finish the group stage in the best possible condition, with harmony and unity within the team."
On tactical decisions, he said: "The coach will decide whether we press actively or sit deeper and wait for opportunities. We haven't practiced that approach yet. Portugal is a strong team with many experienced players who have competed in major tournaments, but our squad has been improving, and our lineup is also competitive."
Regarding support from home fans, he said: "The encouragement from our fans is incredible. We are very grateful for their support, and the atmosphere in the stadium motivates us to achieve better results. We will stay grounded, remain humble, and move forward steadily."
On the goal of winning the group, he said: "The outside world generally favors Portugal more, but our objective is to win the group. We hope the entire team will perform at its best and achieve the most favorable outcome."
When assessing Portugal's overall strength, he noted: "Ronaldo is a football legend, but Portugal's real advantage is their system—all their players compete for top clubs. Their squad is excellent, but the pressure is all on them. We need to play intelligently."
