Against Ghana, Modrić, who started the match, assisted Vlašić in the 83rd minute, helping Croatia extend their lead to 2-1.

At 40 years and 291 days old, Modrić set a new record as the oldest player to provide an assist in a FIFA World Cup match.

So far at this FIFA World Cup, Modrić has started in all three of Croatia's matches.
