Romano: Matheus Fernandes open to Manchester United or Tottenham move; West Ham demanding £85m

On June 28, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Matheus Fernandes is open to joining Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur.

Romano stated: "Matheus Fernandes is ready to join Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur. The player is open to both clubs and does not want to stay at West Ham United to play in the Championship next season.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are competing for Matheus Fernandes, with both clubs engaged in negotiations with the player's representatives. Tottenham made a verbal offer today, and Manchester United is expected to follow suit tomorrow. All negotiations remain at the verbal stage. Ultimately, the club with the highest bid will secure Matheus Fernandes.

United is in Champions League, and in no hurry, there are lots of players in the market. The player himself is not a problem, but the relegated Westham United is exercising revenge through pricing. On the other hand, Tottenham after an escape from religation at the skin of the teeth, will do anything to buy Metheus Fernandez as part of rebuilding that will help them better football for next season. So its gonna be a suprise for me if Manchester United paid that price. If Metheus Fernandez himself be clear to specifically want to join United instead of Tottenham then United will.stand a big chance to fight down the price but from the look of things the player do not mind which team comes for him between the two, as long as he is not playing in championship. Manchester United want players who are interested and willing to play for the team, players who want to come to Manchester United by all means. Manchester United did it last season with the four signings the likes of Cuhna, Beumo, etc. look what they did, now United is back in Champions League football.
