In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Zamorano discussed Internazionale, Pio Esposito, and Inzaghi Jr. He stated:

"The future of Italy? Pio Esposito, but he needs to play," he said directly. "At Internazionale, he's currently only the third-choice striker. You can't keep a player of his quality on the bench all the time. Think about how much has changed: nowadays, Italy's starting strikers don't even get regular playing time for their clubs."

On Inzaghi Jr., Zamorano said: "He's a phenomenon, absolutely world-class. In fact, at the start of the season, Zanetti told me, 'Ivan, Cristian is very strong—he'll do very well.' Marotta, Ausilio, and everyone there have done an excellent job at Internazionale. We won the Serie A title with a dominant performance."

Speaking about Internazionale as a whole, Zamorano said: "Internazionale is my home, my family, my friends. The pursuit President Moratti made for me back then was unmatched. Both Juventus and Bayern wanted me, but when Internazionale showed me their project, I didn't hesitate for a second. Those were five wonderful years."

When asked about his hopes for the new season, Zamorano said: "I hope Internazionale can win the Champions League and avenge that painful defeat in Munich. The team gets stronger every year; they must aim higher, raise their standards, and compete for that 'big-eared' trophy. My favorite player? I have to mention Lautaro," Zamorano concluded, "he's the top scorer again. Like me, he's a fighter."
