According to Portuguese media Record, French international Lenglet is expected to join Benfica.

The 28-year-old defender has spent the past two seasons at Atletico Madrid and is now set to begin a new chapter in Portugal's top division.

According to the report, Lenglet, whose contract with Atletico Madrid runs until 2028, will join Benfica as a replacement for Nicolás Otamendi, who recently departed for River Plate. Lenglet progressed through Nancy's youth academy and has previously played for Sevilla, Barcelona, Tottenham, and Aston Villa. He has earned 16 caps for the French national team and featured at Euro 2020. In the 2023-24 season, he made 24 appearances for Atletico Madrid, with 21 starts.
