Argentina defeated Jordan 3-1 in their final group stage match of the World Cup, and Giuliano Simeone was interviewed by TyC after the game.

Your father also participated in the World Cup, and now it's your turn to be on this stage. Can you talk about your feelings at this moment? Including the hours leading up to the game, and the fact that fans across the country are watching you, what does this mean to you and your family? It must be very different from playing for a club, right?

Yes, it's completely different. Today I realized my dream of participating in the World Cup. I think this is the highest-level competition that every player dreams of participating in. Being able to come here, represent the Argentine national team, and play alongside some of the best players in the world, I am truly very happy. Plus, the result of today's game was very good, and the whole process went smoothly, so I am very pleased.

What did you and your father talk about when you found out you would be playing today? After all, he could give you some experience and advice.

He mainly told me to stay calm and humble, and to continue doing what I've been doing, which is what got me to the national team. And then to keep working hard and do my best to fulfill the coach's requirements, always giving my all.

Originally, people might have expected to play against Uruguay or Spain, but the opponent ended up being Cape Verde. What does this mean for you?

We still need to focus on ourselves, which is what we've always done. All the teams that make it to the World Cup are strong, every opponent is capable, and their presence here proves that. What we need to do is leverage our strengths and pose the biggest threat to our opponents.
