Liverpool FC's official all-time top 100 players ranking is being revealed in reverse order, with Phil Neal, the club's most decorated player, ranked 18th.

Earlier this year, Liverpool FC invited fans, former players, journalists, and a club judging panel to vote on the final ranking of "Liverpool's All-Time Top 100 Players." The selection criteria were based on players' individual ability, influence, historical standing, and achievements during their time at the club.
The reverse-order list will culminate in a special live broadcast program in early July, which will unveil the top five and crown the "Liverpool's Greatest Player of All Time."

Liverpool's All-Time Top 100 Players Ranking — No. 18: Phil Neal
Years at the club: 1974–1985
Appearances: 650
Goals: 59
Honours: First Division (1975–76, 1976–77, 1978–79, 1979–80, 1981–82, 1982–83, 1983–84, 1984–85), UEFA Cup (1976), European Cup (1977, 1978, 1981, 1984), European Super Cup (1977), League Cup (1981, 1982, 1983, 1984)
No player in Liverpool's history has won more trophies than Phil Neal. He lifted 18 major honours during his illustrious career at Anfield.
The remarkably consistent full-back helped the team win 8 league titles and lifted the European Cup 4 times during his more than ten years at the club, scoring in two of those finals.
Neal made 650 appearances for Liverpool, placing him seventh on the club's all-time appearance list.
However, when he joined Liverpool from Fourth Division side Northampton Town in October 1974, few could have predicted such a glittering future. He was one of the first players signed by Bob Paisley after he succeeded Bill Shankly as manager.
After making his debut in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, Neal initially played at left-back for about a year and a half before establishing himself as the first-choice right-back.
Remarkably, the English international set a club record by playing 365 consecutive league games for Liverpool between December 1974 and September 1983.
Neal recalled: "I never missed a day's training in all my years at Liverpool. I wouldn't take time off for a cold. Every day I came in with a smile on my face."
Neal was a calm, reliable player with an excellent ability to read the game. Due to his outstanding attacking prowess, fans nicknamed him "Zico." He eventually scored 59 goals for Liverpool.
One of those goals came in the 1977 European Cup final, where he converted a penalty to help Liverpool beat Borussia Mönchengladbach 3–1 in Rome, securing the club's first European Cup.
He went on to win the European Cup again in 1978 and 1981. In the 1984 European Cup final, Neal scored and converted a penalty in the decisive shootout, helping Joe Fagan's Liverpool defeat AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome to win the trophy.
Jamie Carragher said: "When we talk about players who played for AC Milan or teams like that, we say, 'He won four or five European Cups,' and we all marvel, 'Wow, those Real Madrid and Barcelona players.' But Phil Neal also won four European Cups, which is truly incredible."
Neal was appointed Liverpool captain before the start of the 1984–85 season, which turned out to be his last full season at Anfield.
He made his final appearance for Liverpool in November 1985 and left the club a month later. By that point, he had made 13 league appearances that season, and Liverpool won the league title, making it his eighth league championship.
Neal's record for the number of trophies won may never be broken.
Teammate Phil Thompson commented: "People say the game was tougher back then, and perhaps our players were tougher. But when you look at Nelly, you can only marvel: 'It's incredible!' He deserves all the praise; he was a truly great player."
