The search for Juventus's new number one goalkeeper is intensifying, with E. Martinez remaining the club's top target. The Argentine goalkeeper has been identified as the ideal fit, and Juventus has been working behind the scenes to meet Luciano Spalletti's requirements. The manager believes Martinez's temperament and leadership qualities would significantly strengthen the team.

The main obstacle remains Aston Villa's asking price. Juventus and Villa have reached a preliminary agreement with Martinez on a three-year contract worth €5 million net per year, but the clubs remain at odds over the transfer fee. Villa is demanding €10 million plus performance bonuses, potentially taking the total close to €15 million. Juventus is unwilling to meet that valuation and has set a maximum offer of €5 million plus performance-related add-ons. Villa has recently shown some willingness to negotiate, but Juventus still considers the terms insufficient. CEO Giovanni Carnevali continues to negotiate with Villa while leveraging Martinez's desire to join the club. Despite Juventus's absence from the Champions League, the 34-year-old remains interested in a move. Further negotiations are needed to bridge the gap.

Juventus has identified backup options. The primary alternative is Atalanta's Carnesecchi, although the club considers him unsellable. Another option is Tottenham's Vicarío, who has had limited playing time following the arrival of Dušan Vlahović's backup. Vicario is keen to return to Serie A and would accept a move to Juventus, but Tottenham is demanding €15 million. Napoli is also pursuing the Italian goalkeeper, creating competition for Juventus's attention. A move for Vicario would be more economical in terms of salary—around €3 million annually—compared to Martinez. Juventus is also monitoring Milinkovic-Savic at Lazio, whose future remains uncertain, as Spalletti appreciates his technical abilities.
