ESPN reports that sources say the relationship between Manchester City and Chelsea has not been damaged by Maresca's compensation.

Manchester City has officially announced the appointment of Enzo Maresca as the team's new head coach. The 46-year-old Italian coach will succeed Guardiola, with both parties signing a three-year contract. The appointment was completed after an agreement was reached with Maresca's former club, Chelsea, on compensation.
This is Maresca's third stint at Manchester City, having previously worked in the club's academy and served as Guardiola's first-team assistant coach.
Manchester City has insisted that their relationship with Chelsea has not been affected by the Maresca compensation issue. The compensation is reported to be approximately £17 million.
Maresca departed Stamford Bridge in January this year after his relationship with Chelsea's hierarchy had deteriorated.
Sources said that Manchester City had anticipated compensation would be required regardless of which coach was ultimately chosen to succeed Guardiola. The club also remained relaxed about the delay in officially announcing Maresca, as first-team players are currently either participating in the World Cup or on vacation.
