Manchester City announced on June 29 that they had signed Enzo Maresca to a three-year head coach contract, and Gary Neville shared his views on the appointment.

Neville's perspective
Neville stated that taking over from Pep Guardiola is undoubtedly a huge challenge for Enzo Maresca.
We have already seen Slot do an excellent job after taking over from Klopp at Liverpool, winning the league title in his first season.
Of course, Maresca had a difficult season last year, but the biggest challenge lies in succeeding one of the greatest coaches in history. This is both daunting and an exciting new chapter for him.
I think Manchester City actually started getting back on track in the latter part of last season, gradually building a young new team.
The back four has begun to show chemistry with players like Nunes, O'Reilly, Guehi, and Khusanov forming a solid defensive line.
They also have many talented attackers, such as Cherki, Semenyo, and Doku playing behind Haaland.
So if Maresca can build a strong midfield and get the whole team to truly accept and execute his philosophy, he has a great chance of success.
Guardiola didn't leave him an aging squad. He left a very young team with great potential and plenty of room for improvement.
Additionally, I believe the arrival of Anderson will be a major asset, especially in midfield—an area Maresca needs to rebuild. Anderson's signing will undoubtedly make that task much easier.
