Ange Postecoglou has been backed to replace Steve Clarke as Scotland manager.

The Australian coach has been out of work since being sacked by Nottingham Forest in October and is available to take over the Scotland job.
Postecoglou is no stranger to Scottish football, having managed Celtic for two years with great success, winning five trophies, including two consecutive league titles.
talkSPORT reporter Shobna Ahearne is now backing him to return to Scotland and continue his 'love affair' with the country.
Clarke resigned as manager on Saturday night after Scotland's elimination from the World Cup qualifying campaign was confirmed.
Scotland finished 11th among the third-placed teams and missed out on the playoffs on goal difference.
Clarke held the position for seven years, during which time he led the team to three of four major tournaments.
This summer's World Cup was also Scotland's first appearance at the tournament in 28 years.
Will Postecoglou manage Scotland?
"I like the idea of Ange Postecoglou; his name has been mentioned several times," Ahearne said. "He had a bit of a 'love affair' with Scotland during his time at Celtic. I don't know if Rangers fans would like that.
"Do we continue to look for a Scot, or do we, like England, look for a foreign manager? I'm not entirely convinced yet, but if they can come up with a suitable candidate, it must be given serious consideration."
Berti Vogts was the last foreign manager to coach Scotland, holding the position between 2002 and 2004.
However, talkSPORT co-host Andy Goldstein disagreed with the idea of Postecoglou managing Scotland.
"I think he's a terrible manager. We saw that at Spurs and at Nottingham Forest."
Despite Postecoglou winning the Europa League with Tottenham Hotspur in 2025, he was sacked after the team finished 17th in the league and only lasted eight games at Forest.
Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink sided with Ahearne and refuted Goldstein's claims.
"I think that's inappropriate. Ange is absolutely capable. I like him. Not many people can do well at Spurs—he's won trophies, and many managers have failed there. He's a very good coach."
Neil Gains Support
Goldstein's 'Breakfast' co-host Darren Bent suggested another candidate to succeed Clarke: Millwall manager Alex Neil.
The 45-year-old coach led the Championship club to third place last season before losing to eventual playoff winners Hull City in the playoff semi-finals.
Neil was appointed by Millwall in December 2024 after the club finished eighth the previous season.
Neil has not managed in Scotland since leaving Hamilton 11 years ago.
Bent explained: "Look at his work at Millwall. Last year, with a limited budget, he still got the team into the playoffs. They lost in the playoffs, but the job he did was excellent. I know he obviously wouldn't want to leave Millwall, but in my opinion, it makes perfect sense.
"He's a good manager and a good coach. This is harsh on Steve Clarke, but he has brought the team to the World Cup. Could they have qualified from the group? Probably. I don't think they played well enough in those games."
Scotland's next matches will be in the Nations League in September against Slovenia, Switzerland, and North Macedonia.
Meanwhile, Neil's Millwall will kick off their new season with an away game against Bristol City on August 15th.
