Michael Owen said that Kane is England's best ever center forward and one of the world's top finishers.

Owen said: "My only criticism of Harry is that he went to Bayern Munich. That's what I said at the time, and my opinion hasn't changed. I understand the benefits, and England might see that in the coming weeks. His all-round ability is exceptional—from dropping deep into midfield to initiate attacks, to finishing them. However, looking at his career trajectory, he is overqualified for the Bundesliga. I'm watching this league more now because of Harry, but outside of Bayern, the Bundesliga is frankly quite mediocre. Week after week, he plays for a team that dominates possession, controls the game, and constantly creates chances."
"Kane will certainly score goals, but I still think becoming the Premier League's all-time leading scorer would be a greater achievement. He completely deserved that honor. After his contract with Tottenham expired, he would have had many clubs to choose from. Manchester United would have signed him at any cost. He probably should have joined Manchester City before Haaland arrived. Winning the Bundesliga title with Bayern will never define his legacy, because Bayern win it almost every year. If Bayern had won the Champions League, perhaps we would have a different perspective, but they didn't. None of this changes my view of Kane. He is an excellent footballer, an outstanding captain, and a very good person. More importantly, he is a role model. He demonstrates that you don't have to be born like Messi, Pelé, or Diego Maradona. Sometimes, the greatest players are those who never stop improving."
