According to Sky Sports, England will face a FIFA World Cup knockout match in Atlanta this week. Head coach Tuchel's starting right-back, Reece James, is out due to injury. Gary Neville stated that England underestimated their full-back depth before this FIFA World Cup, and now, before the knockout stage, the team is short on right-back options.

Reports indicate that starting right-back Reece James suffered a hamstring injury and will be out for a significant portion of the knockout stage; to make matters worse, his substitute Livramento was withdrawn from the squad before the match due to the same hamstring injury.
This means England coach Thomas Tuchel can now only choose a right-back from a few candidates for the Atlanta clash: Tottenham Hotspur player Jed Spence, who was originally called up as a substitute for left-back Nico O'Reilly and has always played on the left flank; and two center-backs, Quansah and Ezri Konsa, who can also fill in at right-back.
Neville believes that given James's and Livramento's frequent injury history, Tuchel should have anticipated the current predicament, and many had predicted such issues would arise in a major tournament.
"Don't risk playing Rice in this match; make bold rotations. I believe Tuchel has the courage for that," Gary Neville said.
Meanwhile, Neville warned England about the threat posed by the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Democratic Republic of Congo was in the competitive Group K with Colombia and Portugal, eventually finishing third in the group.
England has long neglected its full-back depth.
Neville stated: "Over the past fifteen to twenty years, I've seen England repeatedly underestimate their full-back options in major tournaments. The team always thinks they can get by with only one specialist full-back and temporarily use other players to fill in, but reality proves this approach doesn't work.
If they face Vinicius in the quarter-finals, or wingers from France or Argentina, and the full-backs lack the necessary defensive skills, the team's flanks can easily be exploited by the opponent. Tuchel previously rested Jed Spence; I hope the coach did this to prepare him for a starting role in subsequent matches.
But we currently have too few available right-back options. James and Livramento have been plagued by injuries in recent years, so their successive absences now shouldn't come as a surprise. Both players are incredibly talented, and missing a major tournament due to injury must be excruciating; I deeply sympathize with them.
Tuchel should have anticipated this risk. All England fans could see the injury concerns surrounding James and Livramento."
The Democratic Republic of Congo should not be underestimated; the team must be wary of their counterattacks.
"The clash with the Democratic Republic of Congo will be very tough. The team must avoid giving the opponent counter-attacking opportunities. In previous matches, we frequently allowed the opponent space for counter-attacks. Against Ghana, one of their attacks could have resulted in a penalty, and Ezri Konsa's tackle nearly conceded one.
Previously against Panama, even though the opponent's squad strength was limited, they still created threats numerous times through counter-attacks. Limiting the Democratic Republic of Congo's counter-attacking offense will be key in this match.
Newcastle United forward Yoane Wissa will lead the line for the Democratic Republic of Congo against England.
Kane and Bellingham perform consistently; the form of the other eight players on the field is questionable.
"Over the past few years, this group of players has set a high standard for England, and fans have high expectations for them.
However, the team's matches against Ghana, Panama, and Croatia have revealed many problems.
The hidden dangers are real. Apart from Kane and Bellingham, the other eight players on the field have various issues regarding injuries, form, and starting positions.
Compared to Argentina, where the other eight players fully support Messi and Alvarez, England's other eight players need to adjust their form and build tactics around Bellingham and Kane to help the team secure victory."
Saka is physically exhausted and his condition is declining.
"In previous FIFA World Cups, few players could maintain a consistent competitive rhythm throughout.
Saka is an exceptionally talented player, performing brilliantly for both Arsenal and England over the past five or six years, with impeccable conduct on and off the field. I greatly admire this player.
However, he is clearly physically exhausted right now, experiencing a series of minor injuries, and has lost his usual explosiveness on the field.
Rice faces the same problem. Over the past three years, he has pushed hard for Arsenal to win the Premier League title and reached the Champions League final with the team. Prolonged high-intensity matches have taken a toll on the player's body. I have seen many players enter major tournaments with fatigue, finding it difficult to reach their optimal state. The FIFA World Cup itself demands players to be at their physical peak; once their form declines before the tournament, it's hard to regain their competitive level during the competition.
My advice is to only start players who are 100% physically fit at this stage. Saka can come on as a substitute for the last 20 to 30 minutes of the game, rather than playing the full 90 minutes.
Now Tuchel needs to manage Rice's playing time, and the right-back position is plagued by injuries. Multiple challenges are simultaneously facing the coach, far exceeding his pre-tournament expectations."
Do not risk using Rice against the Democratic Republic of Congo; make bold rotations and rest players.
"If Rice's energy is further depleted in this match, the team's midfield will face huge problems in subsequent games.
Rice is an indispensable starter for the team; whether for Arsenal or England, he is always the first name on the team sheet. He is the midfield attacking and defensive lynchpin for both Arsenal and England.
In the group stage match against Croatia, Rice was substituted when the team was leading. At the time, it was officially stated as regular rotation to manage playing time, but I completely disagree with that explanation.
Rice was seen leaving the mixed zone with thick bandages on his calf, indicating an injury concern in England's midfield.
Rice has a minor calf injury and his physical condition has not fully recovered. Do not risk playing him in this match against the Democratic Republic of Congo. The coach must be brave enough to make rotations. I believe Tuchel has that decisiveness and knows how to adjust the lineup.
Even without Rice, England has a chance to defeat the Democratic Republic of Congo. As long as he is not fully recovered, he should rest for a few more days to regain his form.
The physical condition of Rice and Saka is the team's biggest concern right now. Both key players need to be in optimal condition for the knockout stage."
Bellingham maintains top-level competitive standards.
"The team's biggest positives currently come from two key players: the consistently effective Kane, and Bellingham, who has been performing at a top level throughout.
Bellingham is in excellent physical condition, full of explosiveness, and actively takes on the team's responsibilities both on and off the field.
Before the tournament, many already considered him a football superstar, and his ability is undeniable. Over the past twelve months, his situation with England was controversial, with him being omitted from the squad multiple times, leading to constant public discussion. However, all negative voices have now completely disappeared.
This player's performance has been outstanding, and he demonstrated his comprehensive abilities in the match against Panama.
In a tightly contested first half, he was the best player on the field for the entire team. To judge a player's true quality, you look at who steps up when the team is in trouble, and Bellingham did exactly that.
Kane and Bellingham are the two main highlights of the team. In matches, the ball should be delivered to them as much as possible, allowing them to finish in the box and the attacking third. Only then will England have a greater chance of continuing to win in this FIFA World Cup."
Kane's performance is stable and reliable; the team can trust him.
"Kane is the most stable player. In football and in life, people prefer reliable and dependable individuals, and Kane consistently delivers on his potential.
I completely understand why Barcelona and all top contending clubs worldwide want to sign him. I describe Kane as precious as gold; his performance is always stable and controllable. The England team knows Kane consistently provides value, and I am confident he will compete fully in the subsequent knockout stages in good health.
Kane has become England's all-time leading scorer in the FIFA World Cup and has performed brilliantly for Bayern Munich this season, making him a contender for the Ballon d'Or."
