Nuremberg coach Klose was interviewed by Sky Sports, discussing the new season, Messi, Mbappe, and Demichelis.

Klose spoke about the team's season goals and transfer situation at the start of Nuremberg's pre-season training. He said: "Of course, we set goals internally, and we will achieve them together with the whole team. This is also how I interact with the team, because there are always goals in football. The transfer window is still open now – I think for another two months – so there will definitely be more activity. But we are already well prepared, and the squad is very good. We have brought in great guys, not only with excellent on-field characteristics but also with good personalities and character. I am very happy because these players have integrated very quickly, and I am very much looking forward to this season."
Regarding the competition in the 2. Bundesliga, especially from the Bundesliga relegated team Wolfsburg, Klose said: "This season has shown that any team can beat any opponent. We know what happened – which teams were promoted and which teams were relegated from the Bundesliga. We also know how they strengthened, and there will definitely be more activity. Again, the transfer window is still open, so there will be changes. But we will take it as it comes, just like last year. We have set our goals, which will be further refined in the coming weeks. Then everyone starts from scratch, and we'll see what happens."
Regarding Messi breaking his World Cup goal record, Klose said: "That doesn't bother me at all. I said before the World Cup that two people would slowly catch up – and I included Mbappe in that. I have always been a fan of Messi, and I have always communicated with his coach and him personally. That feeling is wonderful and very approachable, and I wish him all the best. He later gave me some promises, and I am very happy about that."
Regarding Mbappe's potential to break the World Cup goal record in the future, Klose said: "It's not a given to score many goals in the World Cup. I think he is on the right track. Just look at his age and how many more World Cups he can play. So we all have to expect that. But for me personally, it's not a problem at all."
Klose also spoke about Demichelis, with whom he once worked at Bayern, and who will now take over RB Leipzig as head coach. He said: "He has already proven his ability in his past coaching experiences. At River Plate, he has already delivered results. Now he is going to take a look at the Bundesliga, and I don't think it will be easy. But of course, he has some players at RB Leipzig who can be useful. Compared to his previous experiences, the pressure at RB Leipzig will certainly not be less."
