According to Kyodo News, the Japanese national team will receive US$11 million in prize money.

Kyodo News reported from Houston on the 29th that Japan, eliminated from the FIFA World Cup held across North and Central America, will receive US$11 million, equivalent to approximately ¥1.782 billion.

Japan was eliminated in the round of 16, matching their result from four years ago. However, this tournament expanded from 16 to 32 qualifying teams, and total prize money decreased from US$13 million to US$11 million—a reduction of US$2 million. Due to yen depreciation, Japan's prize money converted to yen is nearly equivalent to the previous tournament. The champion's prize increased by US$8 million to US$50 million, or approximately ¥8.1 billion.

Additionally, all 48 teams participating in this tournament receive a preparation fee of US$2.5 million. Combined prize money and preparation fees total US$871 million, equivalent to approximately ¥141.1 billion.
