After South Korea's elimination from the FIFA World Cup group stage, South Korean international Lee Jae-sung apologized to fans on social media.

Lee Jae-sung wrote,

First, I want to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who gave me and the national team sincere support and encouragement during the FIFA World Cup.

At the same time, I also want to extend my sincere apologies.

I am sorry that I ultimately could not share the joy of victory with everyone, but instead had to share the pain of defeat.

Perhaps my wish to stay one more day at this grand event was a bit too extravagant. This outcome was unexpected and is especially difficult to accept at this moment. But I believe that one day I will calmly accept all of this and regard it as an ordinary part of life's journey.
