According to football-italia, Roma, Atletico Madrid, and Fenerbahce are locked in a three-way battle to sign Greenwood, as Olympique Marseille looks to offload the winger for €46 million.

Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini has long viewed the winger as an ideal signing, particularly following the club's Champions League qualification, but Manchester United's €50 million asking price has been a major obstacle.

Previously, Fenerbahce was Roma's only serious competitor, offering Greenwood an annual salary of €7 million—well above Roma's €5 million—though their transfer fee was lower than Roma's offer.

In recent hours, reports from outlets including L'Equipe indicate that Atletico Madrid has entered negotiations, significantly altering the landscape.

Atletico Madrid's offer is expected to easily surpass both Roma and Fenerbahce, provided they first sell either Julián Álvarez or Alexander Sørloth.

Transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla reported that Marseille's financial difficulties have forced a reassessment, and the club will now accept €40-42 million as a fixed fee plus €5-6 million in performance-related add-ons.

With three clubs now bidding, Greenwood's preference may prove decisive—sources indicate he is frustrated with how Marseille has handled his departure.

Marseille has little choice in the matter: their precarious financial situation demands a major sale, even though 40% of the transfer fee will go to Manchester United.
