Lille OSC would like to keep Alexsandro (26) this summer, according to reports in L’Équipe.

When contacted by the French daily, the club reportedly stated that it had not been approached by “any club” and that the Brazilian’s departure was “not an option” internally. This denial comes amid several reports suggesting that Ipswich Town, recently promoted to the Premier League, were interested in the centre-back.

Under contract with Les Dogues until 2028, Alexsandro has had a virtually barren 2025-26 season after suffering a torn right quadriceps last September and making just 11 appearances (nine as a starter) in all competitions. To get his career back on track, the Rio de Janeiro native will be able to count on the arrival of Davide Ancelotti, Bruno Genesio’s successor in the Lille dugout, whom he played alongside for the Brazilian national team.

Having joined LOSC in 2022 from Chaves, Alexsandro has gradually established himself as a key player in his position in Ligue 1, proving himself to be one of the league’s best defenders two years ago.
