Official Announcement

Olympique Lyonnais have officially announced that Burkina Faso international defender Mohamed Ouédraogo has joined the club from SCR Altach on a five-year contract, expiring on June 30, 2031.

The initial transfer fee for this move is €2.2 million, with a further €600,000 in potential bonuses. If the player is sold for a profit in the future, Olympique Lyonnais will pay 10% of the resale profit to his former club.

Ouédraogo began his career at the Majestic Academy in Burkina Faso. In 2023, at the age of 20, he joined Austrian club SCR Altach. He initially entered the club's youth academy, quickly made his first-team debut in February 2024, and gradually established himself as a key player.

The 23-year-old defender enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2025/26, playing 35 matches in all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists. His robust defending and attacking output made him one of the team's core players. His impressive performances also earned him a breakthrough with the national team, and he has now represented Burkina Faso 9 times.

Mohamed Ouédraogo is Olympique Lyonnais's fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Khalil Boudache, Mats Bidstrup, and Julien Duranville. The club is delighted to have signed this highly promising defender and looks forward to supporting his continued development.
