According to Football.London, Tottenham have submitted an application to Haringey Council to install approximately 3,800 solar panels on the roof of Tottenham Stadium.

The Premier League club submitted the proposal last month, hoping that London solar energy specialists Solivus could begin work in September and complete the installation by the end of the year. The plan is to install solar panels and supporting brackets on the inner and outer rings of the stadium's glass roof, as well as on the Sky Walk, enabling Tottenham's giant home stadium to generate its own clean electricity and help meet net-zero emission targets.
Tottenham Stadium is currently equipped with an energy storage system designed by Altus Energy. The system delivers significant cost savings and enhances power supply stability on matchdays and event days, while also enabling the club to sell electricity back to the grid via backup generators, creating new revenue streams.
This energy storage system has reduced the club's energy costs by over 40% and cut toxic greenhouse gas emissions by more than half.
The stadium, which opened in 2019, may now see the addition of nearly 4,000 solar panels, following in the footsteps of Tottenham’s training ground, Hotspur Way. The latter already has solar panels installed around the Enfield campus.
