Ahead of the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 match against Mexico, England forward Rashford spoke to reporters at the training ground.

Considering the altitude and weather conditions, the match time may be changed from 6 PM to noon. Do you think this would be a disadvantage for England?
No, it is fine. At the end of the day, it is just a football match. We may need to make some minor adjustments, but ultimately, it will not change our perspective on the game or our objectives. Whatever happens, and however the game unfolds, we will strive for victory.
Marcus, you've played in some of the most famous stadiums in world football. What are your expectations heading into a match at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico?
It's an interesting one, and we don't fully know what to expect. We only know our abilities and the strength our team possesses. If we encounter problems, we will find solutions, and that's the shared mindset of all our players and coaching staff. We are full of confidence. We don't expect the game to go exactly as planned, because no game ever does, so this isn't new to us. We look forward to immersing ourselves in everything about this game. As you mentioned, that stadium is fantastic, with passionate fans on both sides. So, hopefully, it will be a great football match, and we can ultimately win.
Marcus, there has been a lot of talk about goalkeepers being overprotected, with social media buzzing about it. What’s your take on this?
As for goalkeepers? I don't know. I think rules are rules, and referees are just trying to do their best. To be honest, I try not to get involved in these discussions because I get too emotionally invested, and that could affect my performance on the field. So I just let the referees do their job in the way they think is best, and we focus on the game.
Marcus, there has been a lot of talk about altitude and home advantage. Are we making too much of it? As players, are you concerned about the altitude?
You guys always overthink everything! (laughs) At the end of the day, it is just a football game. We have been playing since we were kids, in different environments and different atmospheres. Some environments are easier, while others are very difficult or even hostile, but we need to find a way to win. That is the point. Sometimes you need your teammates around you; everyone needs to work together as a unit and perform at our best, and then we will be fine.
Marcus, people believe the competition between you and Gordon for the left-wing position is very intense. Do you think this pressure to secure a starting spot brings out the best in you?
I don't see it as pressure; I think it's just a normal characteristic of a top team. Everyone is fighting to play, and everyone wants to stay on the field for as long as possible. I think this atmosphere and environment are positive for every player. I know there's a lot of discussion about it, but personally, I don't focus on the competition between him and me. I think it's the reality of being in a top team, and we all want to be on the field helping the team. If it's not your moment yet, when the opportunity comes, you have to do your best.
Marcus, facing such a solid defense, how will you approach this huge challenge? What are your thoughts on César Montes, Johan Vásquez, and this excellent defensive unit?
Their defense is indeed very strong, but no team's defense is impenetrable. This is another challenge. If people expect to win the FIFA World Cup without facing challenges, that is unrealistic. We will play against top players, top teams, and top defenses, as well as top forwards. These are all problems we need to solve. I have a lot of confidence in the team, and the team has confidence in itself. We will give 100% and strive for victory.
Marcus, your career started at a very young age, and there is also a young player in Mexico, Gilberto Mora, who is only 18. What advice would you give to this player, who could play in a top European league as you did?
For him, first and foremost, he must enjoy football. This is the best stage in the world, and to be here at his age is incredible. He just needs to keep working hard and enjoy it.
Marcus, I want to ask about Kane. We often talk about him; he played his part in the previous game, and his impact on English football is immense. How much inspiration does he bring to the team, especially given that your job is to supply him? Are we not giving him enough credit?
Yes, I think he always deserves praise. He is the match-winner in the team. He played his part in the previous game, and he has had a huge impact on English football. For our team, when he doesn't score, we are actually surprised. So we expect him to find ways to score. Our job is to support him as much as possible. If an opportunity comes his way, I expect him to take it. The whole team has a lot of confidence in him, and that confidence stems from his own self-belief. He's had an incredible year, so we just need to let him keep going and support him as much as possible.
