On July 4th, Celtic officially confirmed that Oxlade-Chamberlain has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

Sky Sports stated that Oxlade-Chamberlain played for Celtic in the latter half of last season, with a mutual option to extend the contract if both parties were satisfied. Oxlade-Chamberlain thoroughly enjoyed his time there.
Celtic manager Martin O'Neill was keen to keep the former Arsenal player and successfully persuaded him to play for the team for another season. It is understood that several European clubs had made offers to Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Commenting on the extension, Oxlade-Chamberlain said: "I am very happy to continue at Celtic for another year. Last season's experience was perfect, and being able to win the league and Scottish Cup double with the team is an invaluable memory. I can't wait to rejoin my teammates, get back to training, and look forward to us achieving great results again in the new season."
