According to Mediaset, Carlos Tevez, who played for Juventus for two years, bluntly stated that Juventus' performance last season was disastrous.

Tevez said: "I observed Juventus' terrible season; they didn't even make it to the Champions League. The club will need another year to rebuild." Tevez then criticized Spalletti: "I don't like Spalletti. I don't think he's the kind of passionate coach; I like passionate people." When asked about his ideal candidate, he said: "Conte. Conte is the best coach I've worked with. I also enjoyed working with Allegri, but sometimes he's too conservative."

Regarding the choice for the Italian national team coach, Tevez said: "Has Italy found a coach? No? Then it should be Conte. He's a phenomenal person and the only one who can help them out of this predicament. He can do well in the first year, and then consider the second or third year. But if you don't have strong players, he's the best at building a team. I see you might let Maldini serve as technical director. He's the best person for that position; just look at what he did at Milan.

I've met him personally, and he's truly capable. If Conte and Maldini can work together, everything will be stable." Tevez began his coaching career in 2022, coaching Rosario Central and Independiente, most recently managing Talleres domestically. He currently does not have a team, and Tevez said: "I've finished with Talleres, and currently have no coaching assignments; we'll see."
