Recently, Argentine legend Batistuta was interviewed and asked who between Alvarez and Lautaro should partner with Messi.

Batistuta said: "They are both world-class players, standing here today, representing Argentina in the World Cup, and I think they have both performed exceptionally well.

"Everyone always expects them to score goals, but now Messi is responsible for scoring. So in my opinion, there's no problem with either of them.

"If it were up to me to decide, that would be a real challenge. That's why I'm not a coach.

"This would indeed be a very tricky problem.

"In fact, it's unfair to leave either of them out.

"But that's how it is with the national team; only 11 starters can be chosen, there are no more positions. If we put all of them on the field, we would essentially be fielding an extra player, and we would ultimately be disqualified for a violation."
