According to TuttoMercato, Fiorentina is preparing for a major overhaul of its wide defensive lines. With Dodô and Gosens both on the market, the club is looking for replacements for next season.

Sporting director Fabio Paratici prefers players with stronger physical attributes and athleticism, characteristics closer to Gosens than to the Brazilian player.
Ruggeri is the top choice for the left flank
One of the main targets is Atletico Madrid wide player Matteo Ruggeri, who is seen as the favorite by Fiorentina's management. Ruggeri, nearly 190 cm tall, perfectly fits the team's requirements for strength, running ability, and presence on both offense and defense. Also on the list is Sevilla's wide defender Osorio, whose athleticism and excellent endurance are particularly valued by Fiorentina, as these are considered crucial traits in the new tactical plan.
Norton-Cuffy to succeed Dodô
On the right flank, Genoa's Brooke Norton-Cuffy is ranked first. The young English wide player is favored for his physical condition, strength, and ability to cover the entire flank. Norton-Cuffy, 181 cm tall, combines athleticism with room for growth, and Fiorentina believes he could be Dodô's successor.
Wide areas need rebuilding
If both Dodô and Gosens leave, Fiorentina will have to act decisively in the transfer market. Paratici's goal is to create two more physically imposing and impactful flanks, selecting wing-backs who can maintain intensity and stability throughout the season.
