According to the Daily Sports newspaper, Kroos criticized Germany's loss to Paraguay, stating that the team currently lacks world-class players.

One of the biggest upsets in this FIFA World Cup was Germany's defeat by Paraguay. The German team, coached by Nagelsmann, was initially considered one of the favorites to win, but their performance was not as good as Paraguay's, and they were ultimately eliminated by the stronger side. After their exit, various opinions were expressed, including those from former German international Kroos.

In the social media show "Kroos and Kroos: Focus on the FIFA World Cup," produced with his brother, Kroos bluntly stated that the German team currently has "no world-class players." He added that while there are some promising players in the squad, no one is decisive in major matches.

Kroos gave a harsh assessment of the German team under Julian Nagelsmann, pointing out that the new generation of German players lacks character. He said that when the German team walked onto the field against Paraguay, they seemed to believe that just wearing the German jersey would make them win "no matter what."

Kroos asserted that Germany is "far from winning the FIFA World Cup" and must realistically acknowledge that other strong international teams "are simply better" at the moment.

The former Real Madrid player explicitly stated that in Nagelsmann's squad, "world-class players are those who can decide all matches." He said: "World-class players appear on the top scorer list. We don't have a single one, and we must be honest about that."

Furthermore, Kroos believes that the German team has dropped a level on the international stage. He stated: "We are in the second tier internationally. We play well in major tournaments, but something is always missing."

Kroos explained that when he was still playing for Germany and had success in such tournaments, "it always felt like we could always step up a level." He believes that the current team can no longer do that.

Former German captain Michael Ballack also agreed with Kroos, attributing the defeat to the players' personality and mentality. Ballack said: "When two teams are equally strong, everything depends on willpower and personality."

Ballack added that it is crucial to address this "major deficiency." He concluded: "We need to re-cultivate and shape strong personalities in the youth system."
