Italian journalist Pedullà reports that Stones is asking for a basic annual salary of €8-9 million, plus a €2-3 million bonus, if he is to remain in European football. Such high salary demands may be difficult for Italian clubs to meet.

Now 32, Stones is preparing for a new phase in his career after ten years at Manchester City. The England center-back has primarily been linked with Internazionale.

Pedullà stated on his podcast channel: "If he stays in Europe, Stones is asking for a basic annual salary of €8-9 million, plus a €2-3 million bonus. I would be willing to give him such a deal because he is an excellent and important defender with extraordinary playing experience."

Pedullà then exaggerated Stones' abilities, saying: "In Italy, he could play with two cigars in his mouth and his eyes closed. However, his salary demands are so high that Italian clubs would not offer such a contract unless they decide to go crazy."
