According to Sport1, former Germany captain Gundogan believes his former coach Klopp is the perfect candidate to lead the Germany national team.

"If anyone is best suited to take on the job now, it's probably Jürgen Klopp," Gundogan said in an interview with ESPN.

Gundogan explained that he and Klopp are "quite familiar," noting, "I worked with him for four years at Dortmund."

The 59-year-old coach would be "the right person because he has the ability to unite the whole country and reignite everyone's passion for football, something Germany really needs after this painful defeat."

In Gundogan's view, Klopp's most outstanding quality is his ability to restore players to their best form. "Making players feel special and bringing them back to their best form is one of his greatest strengths."

Klopp's greatest strength is his ability to build relationships with players and everyone around him. "He understands players very well, but he's also very demanding, and he's always authentic and honest."

Gundogan said this is what "stars value most." Players need to "trust" their head coach, and Klopp is "probably the person who does this best among all the coaches I've met in my career." He added, "We need this honesty now, and we also need this demand—for the players and for the entire association."
