Brazil lost 2-1 to Norway in the FIFA World Cup round of 16, missing out on their sixth FIFA World Cup title. According to Bild, reporters entered the Brazil team's locker room at the New Jersey FIFA World Cup Stadium two hours after the match and found several tactical documents Ancelotti had prepared for the game.

These documents show that the Brazil team had prepared meticulously for a potential penalty shootout before the match. One document recorded the usual shooting directions chosen by Norway's potential penalty takers, while another analyzed Norway goalkeeper Nyland's habits when saving penalties.

The documents stated that Nyland often dived early when saving penalties, which limited his ability to deal with mid-height shots. However, this analysis did not play a role in the match. In the 14th minute, Bruno Guimaraes' penalty was saved by Nyland. The report stated that if Brazil had taken a 1-0 lead first, the course of the match might have been completely different.

Ancelotti also wrote down specific man-marking assignments on the locker room tactics board for the team's defense against Norway's corner kicks. Among them, 19-year-old Rayan was asked to mark Norway's No. 9, Haaland.

However, Haaland eventually scored twice, helping Norway eliminate Brazil. Ancelotti's pre-match tactics for penalties and set pieces ultimately failed to change the outcome.

Brazil has not won the FIFA World Cup since 2002, and in recent years, they have repeatedly been knocked out by European teams in the FIFA World Cup knockout stages. In this tournament, they once again fell to the European team Norway.
