According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Santiago Giménez has suffered a recurrence of his injury following his return to action and will miss approximately four to six weeks, casting doubt on his future at Milan.

Giménez saw minimal action during the FIFA World Cup and was re-injured shortly after his return. The previously surgically repaired ankle has become problematic again, with the new sprain creating fresh complications for Milan. While the injury appears less severe than initially feared—with a typical recovery time of four to six weeks—it further complicates the Mexican forward's prospects.
Transfer
The arrival of Gonçalo Ramos has effectively settled the question of Milan's first-choice centre-forward. The Portuguese striker is also the most expensive signing in the club's history. For Giménez, the options are limited: remain at Milan as a backup or seek opportunities elsewhere to revive his career.
But where? Porto has only made exploratory inquiries, while Orlando City has shown no concrete interest. Although Milan is open to his departure, Giménez’s valuation remains around €20 million—selling below that figure would result in a loss. Last season, he scored only once, against Lecce in the Coppa Italia, and given his surgical recovery, underwhelming World Cup performance, and now this injury, few clubs appear willing to invest that sum in “Bebote.”
A loan move cannot be ruled out. With Milan competing in three competitions next season, a backup striker remains useful. Camarda, coming off a difficult season, is best viewed as a third option—provided he stays at Milan rather than seeking playing time elsewhere. Ultimately, Giménez may well remain with the Rossoneri, though Rúben Amorim will need to wait for his full recovery before deploying him.
