Napoli launched its centenary celebrations today on the MSC World Europa and unveiled its new home kit for the 2026/27 season. President De Laurentiis attended the event and announced a special celebration to be held in the city center on August 1st. "We are celebrating 100 years of love, identity, ups and downs, rebirth, and success. The history of Napoli football spans more than a century, dating back to the late 19th century," said De Laurentiis.

De Laurentiis discusses Napoli while also comparing Juventus, Inter, and Milan.
“We have gone from Serie B stadiums to the Champions League stage, winning two Serie A titles, and have competed in European competitions 16 times in the past 17 seasons, becoming one of the most recognized teams in European football. For me, the greatest pride is respecting the values of this club, making it competitive while maintaining sustainable development. This must also be emphasized in the future,” De Laurentiis stated.
He then addressed the stadium issue. "I have been to the United States, watched World Cup matches in person, and was very impressed with the stadiums there. From security to parking, everything was smooth."
He also took the opportunity to appeal to the city of Napoli and other relevant parties: "We need to find ways to give the club stability and strength. If we don't pay attention to this, we won't generate enough revenue to compete with the northern teams: Inter, Milan, and Juventus all have much higher revenues. As Conte said, Napoli must fight, but it also needs infrastructure."
"Many of you forget that when the Friedkin family came to Roma, everything was already in place, and Milan and Inter also had financial support. We took over a bankrupt club with no infrastructure and no training center, so we had to try our best. The goal we have set for this new phase is to build a stadium and a training center. I will push for this day and night, as I have done all my life," said De Laurentiis, inviting Campania Regional President Roberto Fico during the live broadcast to discuss the future of the Maradona Stadium and the possibility of a new stadium. Afterwards, the Napoli president became emotional when speaking about his wife, Jacqueline: "Without her love, I could not have achieved these accomplishments," he said, also mentioning his children Luigi, Valentina, and Edoardo.
