Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis quipped that he had "received 200 proposals for players to sign", but said he must trim the squad before thinking about any additions.
After finishing second to Inter in Serie A last season, changes have already begun at Napoli with Antonio Conte replaced by former AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri.
Napoli have also already confirmed that Alisson Santos, who was on loan from Sporting CP in the second half of the 2025-26 campaign, had joined the club permanently.
Rasmus Hojlund, the scorer of 16 goals in all competitions last season, is also now a Napoli player after the club qualified for the Champions League, which triggered the obligation to buy clause in his loan from Manchester United.
The Partenopei also have 24 players who were out on loan last season all coming back to the club, and De Laurentiis said there would be plenty of outgoings this summer.
"In the last month I must have received 200 proposals for players to sign," De Laurentiis said, as quoted by Football Italia.
"But I told them to stay calm. We have 47 players, and we need to place 25 before we can talk. In my opinion, we won't need to buy anyone and will give away many."

Napoli confirmed the long-awaited appointment of Allegri as their new head coach last week, with the experienced Italian signing a three-year contract with the club.
Allegri was immediately considered the favourite to take the reins, after he was dismissed by Milan following their failure to secure Champions League qualification.
The Rossoneri finished fifth in Serie A, just a single point behind fourth-placed Como, causing Allegri's second stint at San Siro to be cut short after just one year.
Allegri has won 14 trophies throughout his managerial career, two with Milan and 12 with Juventus – where he has also had two separate stints.
De Laurentiis had previously said that Napoli were "seeking consistency" with their next coaching appointment, and now that Allegri has finally signed on the dotted line, he is confident he will align with the club's approach.
"Mr Allegri is a company man, we'll get along very well," De Laurentiis added.
