According to talkSPORT, Pochettino, whose contract has expired, may leave after the US team's World Cup Round of 16 loss to Belgium.

Mauricio Pochettino's future may lie elsewhere after the US team was eliminated by Belgium in their home World Cup.
Pochettino had hoped to become the first coach since Bruce Arena in 2002 to lead the US team to the World Cup quarter-finals, but one of the host nations ultimately ended their journey in a disappointing manner, with Belgium winning 4-1 in Seattle.
This Round of 16 match was played amid great controversy, stemming from Donald Trump's intervention, which prompted FIFA to suspend Folarin Balogun's one-match ban, but this move ultimately did not pay off.
Pochettino's team had briefly equalized in the first half with a deflected free-kick from Malik Tillman, but ultimately collapsed completely, with Ruddy-Garcia's Belgium proving too strong for them.
This defeat could mean the end of Pochettino's tenure as coach of the US team.
The former Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain manager's contract has expired, and talkSPORT reporter Ben Jacobs revealed that the Argentine coach is likely to leave. He said: "Pochettino's contract is up and the expectation is he will leave because he's been flirting with club jobs and there have been approaches from clubs, including Milan."
"But Milan have now gone to Ruben Amorim, and that only happened two or three weeks before the tournament started."
"My feeling is that if Thomas Tuchel leaves England, which doesn't seem likely right now because they played Mexico so well, that would be a job Pochettino would quite like. So don't rule out the possibility of him looking for both national team and club coaching opportunities."
"And Pochettino still has a residence in London, he likes it there, and he has unfinished business in the Premier League."
However, the US team hopes to retain Pochettino for the foreseeable future, having him lead the team through to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Jacobs added: "They've offered a four-year contract, he could lead the team in World Cup qualifiers, and it is also believed he would lead the team in the Los Angeles Olympics."
"So this job has high visibility, good funding, and a high salary. Let's see if he decides to continue with this project, or if he leaves directly as expected before the tournament, in which case the US men's national team will need to find another head coach."
Pochettino has not revealed his future plans.
After the loss to Belgium, Pochettino remained silent about his future. He told reporters: "Now is not the time to talk about this."
"I think now is the time to review and evaluate this tournament."
"You know, I believe that in the coming weeks, if the US Soccer Federation wants to talk, we can start talking."
Pochettino replaced Gregg Berhalter after Mikey Varas briefly led the team as interim coach for two matches.
He reportedly became the highest-paid head coach in the history of the US men's national team.
Despite the Round of 16 exit, Pochettino achieved 3 wins in the 2026 World Cup, setting a new record for wins by a US coach in the World Cup.
