Speaking about the future, he said that he is focused on the present, is happy at Porto, and is not currently considering a transfer.

After Portugal's loss, Diogo Costa was interviewed by Livemode TV. When asked how he viewed the loss given his excellent performance in this FIFA World Cup, he said: "I would rather trade my performance for a victory today. For me, the team is always the most important thing. I know that we can only win by relying on our teammates. Today's loss is a result shared by the entire team. Each of us still has shortcomings in terms of demanding ourselves, so we couldn't win the game. A loss is a loss. The most important thing is to not concede goals and to score goals, but as I said, I would rather trade my performance for a victory."
