Manchester United officially released head coach Carrick's pre-season column article in the club's official yearbook. Carrick reviewed the past season and looked forward to the upcoming new season.

The Manchester United Official Yearbook celebrates its landmark 40th edition, continuing a tradition that began in 1987.

The 236-page book provides a comprehensive review of the 2025-26 season, featuring numerous in-depth profiles, match reports, and key statistics for the men's team, women's team, and academy teams at all levels, while also highlighting the excellent work carried out by Manchester United Official Supporters' Clubs and the Manchester United Foundation.

This enhanced digital yearbook also features rich video content, bringing the entire season to life. In addition, the book includes a foreword by Football Director Jason Wilcox and an exclusive column by first-team head coach Michael Carrick.

Below is the full text of Michael Carrick's column in the Official Yearbook:

First, I want to sincerely thank you all for your incredible support throughout last season. As a club, we moved forward together, and your role in driving the team to a third-place finish in the Premier League and successful qualification for the Champions League was crucial.

As someone who has been a Manchester United player, coach, fan, season ticket holder, and now head coach, I know very well how important you are to this club. It has been a great privilege to have your continued support since I first walked through these doors 20 years ago.

In my first few days back at the club, the coaching staff and I spoke with the players, telling them what a rare opportunity it is to represent Manchester United, as this club means so much to countless people. At the same time, we emphasized the importance of embracing the challenge of playing for Manchester United. The players not only met this challenge but exceeded it. We should all be very proud of the progress the team has made in the past few months.

Whether you are a player, staff member, or fan, in the first two games after my return – against Manchester City and Arsenal – we felt the unique passion and atmosphere here, which is precisely the feeling everyone at Manchester United constantly seeks.

However, what I am most satisfied with is that after those two victories, we did not stop, but continued to make progress. We showed strength, stability, and proved that we can win games in different ways. We played brilliant attacking football against Liverpool, Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa; at the same time, we also won some games through sheer grit and fighting spirit, such as away victories against Everton and Chelsea.

Even after securing Champions League qualification, we did not lose momentum or relax our focus. In the last two games, everyone could still see the determination of the entire team. This is the mindset we need to maintain as we head into the new season.

Of course, I know things can't always go smoothly, because the standards here are always very high. And for a club the size of Manchester United, such standards are essential. That's why success here is so satisfying. As long as we stand united and demonstrate the values we want to see in our game, we will always have an excellent chance of success."

We know we still need to keep improving. We have a huge responsibility, not only to win games but also to play exciting football. This will never change, and we should always aim to compete for the highest honors. There are still steps to complete, but we are in a good position to achieve these goals.

We have a very good group of players, and we believe they have the talent, dedication, and determination needed to succeed here. They love this club, and we can feel their strong desire for success. This makes us firmly believe that we are building something truly special and moving in the right direction.

We know we have the ability to beat the best teams in the league. Now, what we need to do is to consistently do that throughout the Premier League season, while competing for all the trophies we can.

I can't wait to continue leading this team in the new season, and I look forward to those special European nights returning to Old Trafford. We are ready to keep moving forward and bring you more great moments for Manchester United.
