Haaland and Thorstvedt were interviewed by the media before Norway's match against England, where they discussed their FIFA World Cup experience, preparation for strong opponents, and team mentality.

Thorstvedt commented on England's match against Mexico, saying: "England is a very hardworking team. Playing away in Mexico is difficult, with all the fans against you, but they showed real resilience and won the match, which impressed me."
When asked about the team's atmosphere after defeating Brazil, Thorstvedt said: "It was a wonderful feeling. We were all happy, listening to music and dancing. It was a moment of high emotion, but now we are back on solid ground, preparing for Saturday's match."
A Brazilian journalist asked what had changed in his life after defeating Brazil, to which Thorstvedt replied: "Nothing has changed in my life. But I made it to the FIFA World Cup quarterfinals. Of course, we are very happy and proud to have beaten that great Brazilian team."
Regarding the team's mentality change over the past month, Thorstvedt said: "Not much has changed. We have always been confident in ourselves, knowing that on a good day we can beat any team. Over the past year or so, we have proven ourselves to be a top team, so we go into every match with the belief that we will win."
When asked if there was any particular player he wanted to play against, he responded: "There's no specific player I'm particularly keen to meet. We focus on taking each game as it comes, one step at a time. We give our all to win every match."
Speaking about his thoughts on other teams, Thorstvedt said: "So far, I've seen every team play well. No matter who the opponent is, it will be a tough match. Many matches in the group stage that were considered to have clear favorites and underdogs were actually very competitive. For example, the result of Cape Verde against Argentina was quite surprising. This FIFA World Cup is very close."
When asked about Haaland and his leadership, Thorstvedt commented: "He always has a winner's mentality. He is a top player, and I have worked with him for many years. On the field, his ability is always amazing, and off the field, he is also a leader who sets an example, and younger players can look up to him."
When asked if Haaland's father (who played in England) had shared any experience on how to deal with England, Thorstvedt replied: "Of course, I've talked to him many times about his time playing in England. He had a great time there, but he didn't give me any special advice. We just talked a bit."
