Neymar posts photos from WSOP poker tournament, eliminated on Day 1 and mocked by netizens

Brazilian forward Neymar was knocked out on the first day of the WSOP poker tournament in Las Vegas, one week after Brazil’s World Cup elimination. The entry fee is about 51,000 Brazilian reals.
The Brazilian striker took part in Event #94 of the World Series of Poker – a six-handed No-Limit Hold’em tournament with a $10,000 buy-in (equivalent to around 51,000 reals). He was eliminated in a crucial hand against Latvian player Vitalijs Kols and exited the competition on opening day.
This poker trip took place during Neymar’s vacation following Brazil’s World Cup exit. Brazil lost 1-2 to Norway in the Round of 16. Neymar came off the bench in the second half and converted a penalty in stoppage time. He left the pitch emotionally after the match and described it as what could be his final game for the national team. This early exit marks Brazil’s earliest World Cup elimination since 1990.
Some netizens mocked him on social media: “They should’ve taken João Pedro to the World Cup instead of a poker player.”
