On July 14, according to the Clarín newspaper, the Argentine team left Kansas City on Monday and arrived in Atlanta to prepare for Wednesday's semi-final against England. Coach Scaloni tested the lineup during training but has not yet confirmed the starting eleven.

Scaloni is considering several options: repeating the starting lineup against Switzerland; bringing in Otamendi to form a three-man defense; or starting Lautaro Martínez and Álvarez simultaneously. The combination of the latter two options is also not ruled out.
The biggest concern currently is on the right flank, where Molina and De Paul have been struggling. England's best attacks originate from the left, so Scaloni hopes to strengthen the right-flank defense without sacrificing attacking power.
