According to German media reports, senior German Football Association officials met with Red Bull representatives in Munich on Tuesday to hold crucial negotiations regarding Klopp's contract termination.

According to sport1, citing SID, German Football Association President Neuendorf and Red Bull officials held talks in Munich. The central topic of the meeting was whether Klopp could terminate his "Global Head of Football" contract with Red Bull, which runs until 2029, ahead of schedule, and what conditions would need to be met. Earlier reports suggested that the 59-year-old renowned coach might continue his cooperation with Red Bull in an advisory capacity.

The German Football Association delegation, led by Neuendorf and Watzke, had already reached an agreement with Klopp last week in New York on a contract until 2030. The German Football Association subsequently stated that it was "optimistic that the negotiations would ultimately conclude successfully," but "on the condition that an agreement is reached with Klopp's current employer, Red Bull."

The final solution is expected to be finalized no later than this week, when Klopp will conduct final negotiations with Red Bull CEO Mintzlaff in the United States. If this goes through, Klopp will replace Nagelsmann as the head coach of the German national team. Nagelsmann has announced his resignation after another World Cup failure. The new coach's first match will be the UEFA Nations League match against the Netherlands in Amsterdam on September 24.
