In the World Cup semi-final, France lost 0-2 to Spain. English football legend and BBC pundit Chris Sutton said Spain gave France a "footballing lesson" and completely dominated them as they advanced emphatically to the World Cup final.

Sutton said: "Dembele has been outstanding at this World Cup, but tonight it looked like he had his boots on the wrong feet. He was terrible, a complete mess. I don't remember him ever playing so badly."

France played their worst half of the tournament, and Spain deserved their lead. Spain have shown they are the best team in possession, as well as the best team without the ball. Spain worked extremely hard and were very aggressive off the ball.

"Just think how helpless Mbappe was... He barely touched the ball."
