England center-back Ngoyo was interviewed ahead of the World Cup semi-final against Argentina. Ngoyo claimed that England had not watched any of Argentina's matches before the World Cup semi-final.

Ngoyo said: "We haven't had a chance to watch any of their games yet. I'm sure that when we have a meeting tonight or tomorrow, we'll see some clips of them and figure out what we can do to beat them. I'm sure they have a great mentality and strong spirit, and so do we."
Ngoyo played at right-back against Norway and may take on the same role against Argentina, which is different from his usual position as a center-back at Aston Villa.
Ngoyo said: "I am very familiar with this position. I always say that no matter where the coach wants me to play, I will give my all, and I feel comfortable whether it's at center-back or right-back. So we'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if I'm still in the same role."
Ngoyo also said that there would be no personal feelings involved when he faces his Villa teammate, Argentina goalkeeper E. Martinez.
He added: "He is a very good goalkeeper, a great goalkeeper. I have played with him for many years, and I have learned some things from him during his time at Villa, such as his winning mentality and desire to win, so it will be good to see him tomorrow. Everyone knows E. Martinez, we know what kind of person he is and what he can do, so we will be prepared. I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet, I'm sure it will be nice to see him again tomorrow after such a long time. Once we step onto that pitch, there are no friends."
