Official news, July 15th: Sunderland has signed 34-year-old Belgian international Meunier on a two-year contract.

It is reported that Meunier has signed a two-season contract with Sunderland and will wear the No. 12 jersey.

Meunier stated: "I am incredibly excited and honored to join Sunderland."

"I am very happy to be here and start a new phase of my career. The Premier League is one of the most competitive and entertaining leagues in the world, and this is a challenge I have always longed for.

When communicating with the club, I was deeply impressed by the team's ambitious goals, development plans, and continuous upward drive. The opportunity to play in European competitions was also a key reason for my choice here – players always want to compete against the strongest opponents and strive for all trophies."

"I hope to bring my many years of experience to the team, balancing on-field performance with the locker room atmosphere.

In my career, I have been fortunate to play for many excellent teams, and now I am willing to give my all for this club, help my teammates, and build a strong bond with the fans.

I can't wait to rejoin the team, meet everyone, and make my debut in front of the home fans."
