On July 17, according to official news from Torino, Uruguayan international goalkeeper Israel underwent left shoulder surgery; recovery time has not yet been announced.

Torino Football Club announced that goalkeeper Franco Israel underwent left shoulder surgery today at the Remei Clinic in Barcelona. The surgery was performed by Professor Jordi Ardevol (using arthroscopic technique), with Dr. Corrado Bertolo, orthopedic specialist of Torino Club, also present to assist. The surgery was successfully completed as planned, with no complications post-operatively. Israel will be discharged tomorrow and will then begin initial rehabilitation training at the Fisio&Lab center in Torino.
