According to Récord, Uruguayan forward Aguirre became the first player to be sent off in the opening season of the Mexican league in 2026 for violating the "Prestianni Law."

Aguirre received a red card in the 45th minute of the match between Tijuana and Tigres. Near the end of the first half, the Tigres forward had an altercation with opposing defender Jorge Jesús Gómez. During the dispute, Aguirre covered his mouth with his hand while speaking to his opponent, which the referee team deemed grounds for dismissal.

Although the head referee, Ismael López Peñuelas, did not initially show a red card directly, after VAR's reminder and a brief review, he decisively showed the red card to the Tigres player. This penalty left Tigres with one less player before halftime, and Aguirre became the first player in the Mexican league to be penalized under this new rule.

The "Prestianni Law" aims to punish players who cover their mouths to hide potentially insulting or offensive language directed at opponents, referees, or match participants, granting the referee the power to show a direct red card if deemed necessary. Aguirre's dismissal set the first precedent for the application of this rule in Mexican football.
