On July 16th, Italian journalist Schira reported that Al-Nassr striker Durán is close to joining Benfica on loan.

The journalist stated: "Jhon Durán is set to join Benfica on loan from Al-Nassr."

The 22-year-old Durán currently has a Transfermarkt value of 15 million Euros. In the second half of last season, he was loaned to Zenit, making a total of 9 appearances for the team, including 4 starts, and scoring 2 goals. Durán joined Al-Nassr in the winter transfer window of 2025 and made 18 appearances for the team, scoring 12 goals. Last season, he was loaned to Fenerbahçe and Zenit.
