July 18 — Beşiktaş officially issued a statement denying transfer rumors reported by journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu. However, journalist Fabrizio Romano countered that while the deal remains incomplete, Beşiktaş did submit a formal offer to Salah.

Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu previously reported that Beşiktaş made an initial offer to Salah. During initial negotiations, Salah demanded €15 million annually but reportedly lowered his demands to join Beşiktaş. Salah's lawyer traveled to Istanbul for talks.

According to reports, Salah's lawyer has since left Istanbul. Salah has accepted Beşiktaş's financial terms, but the clubs have not yet signed a contract. Salah has requested that Beşiktaş provide a bank guarantee before finalizing the deal.

In response, Beşiktaş issued an official statement, writing: "Regarding content related to our club's transfer activities recently published by journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu through digital platforms, our club solemnly declares: The above information is purely fictitious and has no factual basis.

"This person has repeatedly fabricated reports about our club's transfers that bear no relation to facts and has deliberately misled the public.

"As stated previously, all transfer-related information will be announced through official club channels with complete accuracy and transparency.

"We urge fans and the public not to believe any information not published through our official channels."

Romano responded: "Why did Beşiktaş deny the rumors with an official statement? Because Salah's deal hasn't been completed yet. Before an agreement is finalized, clubs must exercise caution—completely understandable. Beşiktaş is indeed pursuing Salah's transfer, and they did make an offer. However, we must await an official agreement before confirmation. We're waiting for the next steps. Salah has also received offers from MLS and Saudi clubs, so Beşiktaş is maintaining discretion until reaching a comprehensive agreement."
