Former Inter goalkeeper Sommer has joined Club Brugge on a three-year contract after his previous contract expired. The 37-year-old Swiss goalkeeper admitted upon his presentation that it "feels right" and he is looking forward to starting the new season.

Sommer introduced himself to Belgian fans by saying: "I feel very good, the first few days are always interesting because everything is new. The atmosphere here is great, and I like it a lot. Why Club Brugge? There are many reasons. I had a very pleasant conversation with the club and the board. Ultimately, it always comes down to feeling. I came here, visited the training ground, and had also watched some of their games in the past. I understand their playing style, and I had a good chat with the coach. Then that feeling came, telling me this was the right step. Everything here is very professional and modern, the conditions are perfect for working hard, growing, and having an excellent season. I'm very happy to be here."

"I am truly delighted to be here and can't wait to start the new season. I will try to bring my experience. My primary goal is to be a good goalkeeper for Club Brugge. One of the best moments in recent years was winning the championship with Inter, when we celebrated on the bus through the city – that was incredible. Those moments make you feel that all the effort was worth it. I have always told myself to give my all in my career, because one day it will end, and a new life will begin. I truly want to give everything I have in the world of football, and I still have tremendous motivation to improve every day. I love goalkeeping, I love playing football, even at 37."
